American Inhalers
 
Tin inhaler, probably from the beginning of the 20th century, fabricated in New York. Label: BENZOINOL INHALER MADE BY THE BENZOINOL Co. NEW YORK. Very simple inhaler which was filled with boiling water. Inhaler from the USA. Inscribed: „Atlas Steam Vaporizer No.111“. On the box it says: „Atlas Steam Vaporizer No.111 Used in the treatment of Coughs, Colds, Sore Throat, Asthma, Catarrh, Hay Fever and all other diseases of the respiratory tracy Directions“. Probably manufactured by the company DeVilbiss in Toledo, Ohio. Two simple US tin inhalers. The one on the left has a fuel reservoir with wick at the bottom, the one on the right was filled with water.
